Naseem was established by Mrs. Sameera Abdul Jabbar AL Kooheji in December 1981 to answer a pressing demand for a good bilingual school to cater Bahraini and other Arab children.
Within six months, enrollment grew by over ten-fold from five pupils in January to sixty pupils in June. Enrollment grew steadily to reach 100 students in the following year and 130 in 1985-86. Enrollment had to be frozen due to lack of space. In 1986-87 Naseem School moved to bigger premises in Ghudaibiya. An Elementary section was started. Enrollment increased from 160 students in the first year to 280 in 1990-1991. Once again the school outgrew the planned space. In April 1991, the school moved to yet bigger premises in Adliya. This move was temporary. Plans to build a Naseem School Campus were on the drawing board. The school kept on growing, and enrollment in 1991-1992 was at 310. The steady growth during the last decade enabled the school administration and faculty to go ahead with continuous development plans. A more advanced curriculum was opted for in 1991 and faculty qualifications were consequently upgraded. |
